Gosh I hadn't realised 3 months with IDI-Italy 1858 has gone by so quickly. Seems like the first 2 weeks of breakout panic happened just yesterday. *fingers crossed it doesn't happen again! oh the horrorrr!*

Who knew this would be the start to something fantabulous.. ;)

Before the IDI-Italy 1858 Super Fan Campaign, I hadn't even heard of the brand. But after using their products, I'm glad I was chosen to participate in the campaign. I've seen a lot of improvement to my skin over the past 3 months.

My skin before IDI-Italy 1858:
1) Frequent breakouts!
2) Uneven skin tone due to acne
3) Dull skin
4) Forehead lines slightly obvious *sign of old age =(*
5) Smile lines around the mouth area were slightly obvious too *sigh, does this mean I have to stop smiling too much..*

BreakOut Panic
1st week of use

My skin 3 months on:
1) Breakouts have calmed down. Realistically didn't expect it too completely disappear. *I blame it on my phreaky hormones*
2) Skin tone have evened out significantly!
3) No more dull skin!! Yay!! My skin looks soo much brighter & "alive" now.
4) "The Lines" - The appearance of my smiles lines & lines on the forehead has soften by using one particular product that was given to me. *winks*

I wouldn't say the results after 3 months use has been miraculous. But I have seen significant improvement in such a short period of time. Imagine the possibilities of pro-longed use! I mean, I've had friends commenting that my skin looks clearer & brighter. ;p

I've been asked to recommend the best products I've tried from IDI-Italy 1858. It's always better if you use the whole range as they're effects are meant to complement each other. But if I really had to choose & recommend it has to be..

My 2 favourite-test products:
1) Lab 0.22 [pro] ClariAction Lightening Cream
This is the product that has evened out my skin tone & made it look brighter!

2) Lab 0.20 [pro] TriAction Age Defender Cream
This one has managed to soften the appearance of my smile lines & forehead lines. I hear sceptics going, "Yeah right". It worked on my skin, so it may or may not work on yours. So the only way you'll know is to try it out. With this product & facial exercises to help strengthen facial muscles, my lines could actually disappear. *wishful thinking.. lol..*

I lurv lurv these 2 products to bits! Looks like 151 years of research was well worth it.

Clear Skin = Happy FatiN :)

Thanx loads IDI-Italy 1858! It's wonderful to know that there are products out there that works for me.. =)

*Note: The products I've tried have worked on my skin. It may have a different effect on yours. Just bear that in mind k.. =)

STEP 4:

3.30 [three]
DermReviv Hydrating Cream

Care : 3.30 [three]
(Highlighted in red box)

Hydrates & protects against all type of dry condtions

Usage
Morning & Night

Ingredients

Benefits

- emollient-rich & fragrance-free
- hydrates & protects against all types of dry conditions
- promotes cell regeneration
- re-captures skin's youthful glow

Instruction for Use

Apply over skin after cleansing & conditioning. Massage gently for optimal results.

I say

I found it strange at first that I was given a product meant for Dry Skin. According to Juliana at the time I was given the products they had ran out of 2.20 [two] DermSential Moisturising Cream which I think would have complemented the 2.10 [two] DermSential Cleansing Foam. I was given this one as it was similar to the 2.20.

1) The texture is sightly thick. Well.. it is meant for dry skin after all.

2) I squeeze out only a small amount. As I have combination skin, too much of this cream on my t-zone and chin area might cause it to appear slighty shiny (In other words, disastarous!).

3) I apply a few dots on my face to ensure even application and massage upwards.

4) I am not too sure about the 'youthful glow' bit but my cheeks feel better hydrated since I started using this cream. Bye bye peeling bits.

STEP 3 :

2.10 [two]
DermSential Cleansing Foam

Cleanse : 2.10 [two]
(Highlighted in red box)

Soothes irritation

Usage
Morning & Night

Ingredients
Aqua, Sodium PEG-7 Olive Oil Carboxylate, Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Magnesium Laureth Sulfate, PEG/PPG-14/4 Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Propylene Glycol, Lactic Acid, Chamomilla Recutita Extract, Bisabolol, Avena Sativa Kernel Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana Distillate, Aloe Barbedensis Extract, Maltodextrin, Magnesium Lactate, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Paraffinum Liquidum, Sodium Benzotriazolyl Butylphenol Sulfonate, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Lanolin Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylparaben, Butylene Glycol, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Alcohol Denat, Buteth-3, Parfum, Tributyl Citrate, Disodium EDTA.

(This is seriously a mouthful!)

The Box says
A proprietary formula of Lactic Acid for its hydrating action in combination with Chamomile, Aloe Vera natural extracts, Hamamelis distillate and Oat kernel natural extracts to gently cleanse, soothe and hydrate the normal skin type.

Benefits
  • light foaming rinse-off formula
  • gently removes make up & impurities
  • soothes irritated skin
  • stabilises hydration & moisture balance
Instruction for use
Apply over skin. Massage gently & rinse thoroughly with water.

Result
Skin glows with healthy radiance and suppleness

I Say
1) Light foaming formula very convenient.

2) White with light scent.

3) Pump out only a small amount. Too much may cause skin to feel a bit dry and tight after rinsing. Which means do not press the pump all the way down.

4) I use this interchangeably as either Step 2 or Step 3. In the morning as Step 2 and at night Step 3.

5) After rinsing my skin feels comfortable. It does not strip the moisture off the surface of my skin.

6) I however fail to notice a glow after the wash, just that my skin feels clean. Lol!

Thought to myself:
I got 3 products under the 'Cleanse' category. Does this mean that my skin should be super clean after using all three?

STEP 2:

Cleanse : 6.11 [six]
(Highlighted in Red box)

Removes excess make-up & cleanser

6.11 [six]
DermGentle Conditioning Lotion

Usage
Morning & Night

Ingredients
Aqua, Pentylene Glycol, Glycerin, Aluminium Chlorohydrate, Hamamelis Virginiana Extract, Urea, Sodium PCA, Diglycerin, Chamomilla Recutita Extract, Rose Gallica Extract, Lactic Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Sorbitol, PCA, L-Lysine, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Allantoin, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Caramel.

The Box says
A proprietary formulation (Alcohol-free) with a combination of Hamamelis, Chamomile and Rose de Provence natural extracts providing a cleansing and refreshing action while respecting and protecting the extreme sensitive skin.

Benefits
  • alcohol-free formula
  • removes excess traces of make-up & cleanser
  • conditions skin & increases hydration level
  • soothes irritated skin Instructions for use
Instructions for use
Apply over face with cotton pad after 6.10 [ six ].

Recommended for use as an after-shave for the extreme sensitive skin.

I Say
1) Slightly yellow coloured liquid form.

Slight yellow colour not really visible in this picture.
So you will just have to take my word for it.. lol..

2) I use 6.11 interchangeably as either Step 2 or Step 3. In the mornings, I use it as a toner after washing my face with 2.10 [two] DermaSential Cleansing Foam. In the evening I use it after 6.10 to effectively remove traces of sunblock, concealer and dirt accumulated through out the day.

3) My skin feels fresh after applying the Conditioning Lotion.

Foundation and concealer are two things that I must put on before leaving home in an attempt to fake near flawless skin. To take it all off at the end of the day I was given a product from the 6.10 [six] Sensitive range.

STEP 1:

Cleanse : 6.10 [six]
(Highlighted in Red box)

Removes make-up & impurities gently & effeectively

6.10 [six]
DermGentle Cleansing Milk

Usage
Day & Night

Ingredients
Aqua, Paraffinum Liquidum, Pentylene Glycolm Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Oleth-10, Stearyl Acohol, Lanolin Alcohol, Panthenol, Chamomilla Recutita Extract, Bisabolol, Glucose, Laneth-16, Propylene Glycol, Ceteth-16, Butylene Glycol, Oleth-16, Carbomer, Steareth-16, PEG-60, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Ethoxydigycol, Sodium Citrate, Parfum, BHT.

The box says
A formulation with a unique balance of Pro-Vitamin B5, Chamomile and Shea Butter extract that provides effective emollient action while respecting and protecting the extreme sentive skin.

Benefits
  • unique oil-in-water formula with pH6.5
  • gently & effectively removes make up & impurities
  • soothes inflamed skin
  • restores skin's natural moisture balance
Instruction for use
Apply over skin. Massage gently. Remove with cotton pad or rinse with water.

Description
White in colour with a subtle scent, it has a light lotion-like texture. Easy to apply on skin. I prefer to rinse with water because I feel it removes traces of the cleanser better. My skin feels comfortable after rinsing unlike harsh cleansers that strip off your skins' moisture just because it's oily.

'My IDI Mug Shot'

Earlier in the week I said I was suppose to get another product. Well, picked up Step-7 on Friday. Brought along my camera this time and got the very helpful Ching to help snap a pic of me with the IDI Super Fan Campaign Card. Was dying to overpose or do my superhero pose but decided not to. Might scare him. Lol!

The missing Step-7 is:

Lab 0.20 [pro] TriAction Age Defender Cream
  • Anti-Wrinkle & Anti-Ageing
  • Hydrating & Enriching Skin With Antioxidant Properties
Wrinkles? Ageing?! Cripes, I suddenly feel so old. Anyways, it has been about 11 days since I started using the rest of the products minus the TriAction Age Defender. I have noticed a few changes to my skin. But first I have to tell about the mini panic attack I had the first few days I used the products.

The arrows point to the breakout area.
(Please ignore my bare-face and terrible eye bags.)

I brokeout! Not like the tiny acne or whitehead kind. The big painful kind concentrated at my chin area. Talk about my ovaries having issues with IDI. I started using the products on Thursday and when I woke up on Friday all hell broke loose. Huge bits on my chin. Thought to myself that if i did not get better, might trot over to the clinic and get it sorted out. But luckily by Monday I saw some sign of it calming down. A few days later it healed but there still are a few small ones that have appeared though not as bad as the ones on Friday morning.

On a happier note, I noticed my cheeks looking clearer and my scars have slowly started to lighten. There might be hope after all..

Now that my skincare steps are complete, I will start reviewing the products individually very soon.

Note:  I was told by Juliana that I only need to use a small amount of each product since IDI formulations are rather concentrated. This means they will last longer. *smile*

I have never heard of IDI-Italy 1858 until recently. It was introduced in Malaysia by 10B International. What caught my interest was that in developing its products, IDI draws from the expertise of doctors and dermatologists. This is a huge plus point for me. Having heard that they were holding a Super Fan Campaign and with some encouragement, I sent in my horrifying bare-faced picture along with my skin concerns. This campaign runs from January 2010 through to March 2010.

Since they were only looking for 3 participants from 3 skin types (acne, dry and sensitive) I did not expect to be chosen. A week later I received a mail asking me to come for an interview with the IDI Nutritionist at their office in Plaza Vads, TTDI. Juliana, the IDI Nutritionist, was very friendly, explained to me about the brand and went on to analyse my skin. I have combination, acne-prone skin with uneven skin tone due to post acne scars. The acne growth concentrated around my chin area shows that I may have some problems with my ovaries. She advised me to eat more fruits and vegetables and also to add more protein in my diet. Perhaps to include multi-vitamins in my diet as well. At the moment I'm already eating 5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day. I'll give the multi-vitamins a try though.

Juliana then prepared a bag full of products for me. I didn't even realised I was chosen. Well, yay! IDI-Italy 1858 skincare routine includes the the basic -Cleanse 1, Correct 2, Care 3 and Treat 4. The amount of products coming out of the bag seemed endless. It finally stopped at 8. There is one more product that I have to pick up this week, which makes it 9!

She went on to explain to me how to use the products and what they are suppose to do for my skin. In fact I started using the products on the spot. Ching, the IT guy then took a bare-faced picture of me then did the video session. Oh how I dread bare-faced pictures!

I did ask if there would be any side effects by using the products. I was told that I may have minor breakouts. This is quite normal as the products are working towards cleansing the impurities from within.

IDI has developed skincare products in 4 series, namely:

- 1.0 [one] oily/acne skin
- 2.0 [two] normal/combination skin
- 3.0 [three] dry skin
- 6.0 [six] sensitive skin

For my problemed combination skin Juliana did a 'mix and match' with the products. So I got:

- 6.10 [six] DermGentle Cleansing Milk
- 6.11 [six] DermGentle Cleansing Lotion
- 2.10 [one] DermGentle Facial Cleanser
- 3.20 [three] DermReviv Moisturising Cream
- 1.21 [one] DermClene Soothing Cream

In providing targeted treatments to complement the above, IDI also has a Lab [pro/med] series suitable for all skin types. I received 4 out of 5 products from this series. I was told by Juliana this range costs around RM220. Omg! From this range I got:

- Lab 0.20 [pro] TriAction Age Defender Cream (To be collected)
  - For my aging skin
- Lab 0.22 [pro] ClariAction Lightening Cream
  - For my post acne scars
- Lab 0.30 [md] UltraAction Protection Cream
  - For my outdoor excursions
- Lab 0.31 [md] MultiAction Mask
  - For my fine lines & to restore suppleness

As part of the campaign my blog link will be on IDI's Facebook. Follow me as I embark on my Super Fan Campaign for younger looking (keeping my fingers crossed for this..lol), acne-free, even-toned skin! And remember to click on "Like" for my posts and updates for me to stand a chance in winning 1 year's worth of IDI products. :)
