Looking through the photos I took at the SK-II 'Crystal Clear Skin. No Compromise' event, I realised there were loads of Godfrey Gao photo and not much of anything else. You can't blame me really, it's Godfrey Gao! He is also SK-II's international brand ambassador and the first male face of SK-II. If you guys don't know who I'm on about, which is impossible, Godfrey Gao is a Taiwanese-Canadian actor-model. He was also selected to front the Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2011 Ready-to-Wear campaign, joining an elite group of Asian models who are making waves in the global fashion scene. And his mom is from Penang! Who migrated to Canada.. but that's besides the point. He's part Malaysian people!

I have always wondered what it would like to walk around with bright hair and I don't mean the usual blonde shades. Well last week I got hair chalked with the all new L'Oreal Professionnel Hair Chalk at Centro Hair Salon. The best thing about it is that you can change your hair colour as often as you want without all the bleaching and stuff, with loads more fun colours.

Okay so I don’t usually go shimmer lip colour because I usually find the colour to be very muted. Which basically means I end up with sparkly lips which I don’t really fancy. Hence the inclination towards something sheer or creamy.

A Spring must-have! The New Clinique Cheek Pop Blush is my current fave. It's like a pop of pretty on my cheeks. The Cheek Pop blush is a new silky formulation from the brand and it comes in four shades - Ginger Pop, Peach Pop, Berry Pop and Plum Pop. It's meant to give you that healthy "just-pinched" look.

Being a huge fan of Bobbi Brown I was beyond excited to have been invited to the Bobbi Brown Makeup School last month with Kai Vinson, Bobbi Brown'a Regional Director of Education & Artistry in Asia Pacific who works closely with Bobbi Brown herself every season during New York Fashion Week. Picked up some really good tips from him. So cool! Basically it's a training session that happens every six months to introduce Bobbi Brown's lastest products to its makeup artists.

So that was a long break albeit not by choice. I was fighting off the flu, fever and an annoying eye infection. Not being able to wear mascara is pure torture. Still avoiding any sort of eye makeup for at least a few more days though. The right eye and I are still not on the same page.

I'm pretty sure you've seen these adorable white horses around Tesco. This Astro Special Mah Li soft toys were introduced in conjunction with Tesco "Ong Mali" Chinese New Year campaign.

White Horse represents light, sun, day, vitality, illumination, resurrection, messenger of birth.

It's pink and pretty. Bobbi Brown Uber Pink Collection comes in time for Chinese New Year celebrations. I don't usually go for something so pink but the Illuminating Bronzer in Pink Peony is a dream. It's a rosy pink shade. Very flattering on my skin tone and gives me that healthy flush. Illuminating Bronzer in Pink Peony is not new but makes an appearance on occasions for a limited period of time. So this one with Be Bold embossed onto it is an LE. The other shade is the Illuminating Bronzer in Antigua which is a light pink bronze. It has Be Pretty embossed on it. Antigua is actually part of the existing Illuminating Bronzing Powder range. The texture for both shade is soft and smooth. It goes on seamless and is easily buildable for more intense colour. The Illuminating Powders retails at RM140.

Despite bringing in Korres, Sephora Malaysia seems to have omitted the lip balms last I checked. So I had a friend get it for me from London. Since I have too many colourless once I opted for the Rose shade which would give some colour to my lips.

It's described as a lip butter with sun protection that instantly hydrates and soften lips. It's main ingredients being Mandarin oil which offers nourishment and long lasting care, and Shea Butter which soothes, irritated and chapped lips while moisturising it. It has SPF15 to protect lips from UV aggression.

I initially wanted to the the original lip butter in the pot but I really don't fancy dipping my finger in a pot. Besides the Mandarin Lip Butter Stick comes in a pretty and cool looking tube which color which colour coordinates with the shade inside. The writing on the inner tube just added to the cool factor. Yes, I'm such a sucker for such things. 

Rose seems like an intense shade but went on sheer when I swatched it. The colour does build, and I notice so does the hydration, though not by much. It's lovely shade of sheer red. The colour does not last all too long and eventually comes off with drinking, eating etc. I like the fact that it doesn't stain the lips, so I can just reapply with it looking fresh.

The texture however is really light. It moisturises just not intensely. I find myself reapplying often especially if I'm in a air-conditioned room for long periods. Although my lips feel soft, I don't find it suitable for my very dry lips days. It's a nice one to carry around for some colour and light hydration though.

Estée Lauder introduced the new Micro Essence earlier this month. Micro Essence Skin Activating Treatment Lotion is the first-of-its-kind "essence-in-lotion" that strengthen skin's foundation and reveal a youthful glow. It contains Micro-Nutrient Bio Ferment, a powerful concentrate which activates skin's mulitple "pro-youth" functions and help "reset" the look of skin.

Bobbi Brown's Spring/Summer 2014 kicks off with the Nude Glow Collection. It's about nude on nude. From sheer to sparkly, there's a nude for everyone. Bobbi Brown Nude Glow Collection consists of three eye palettes, three lippies and nail colours. Most of the collection is already in stores. There is a chance that we may not get the complete collection.

Each eye palette is a combination of matte, shimmer and sparkly shades. The colours are light and not very pigmented. It's called nude after all. Crystal Eye Palette is a pink-grey palette whereas the Nude Eye Palette is a pink-grey-beige palette.

Apart from the existing two brightening finishing powders - Porcelain Pearl and Nude, Nude Glow Collection introduces a new shade, Bronze Glow. It's finely milled, so it goes on really light. Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder is skincare infused, it has a blend of mulberry, grape and scutellaria extracts as well as sodium hyaluronate to help the skin looking fresh and smooth. 

Currently only two out of the three lip colours are available - Pink Flush and Pink Rose. Despite it being for a nude look, the colours are creamy bright and pigmented.

Bobbi Brown has paired the palettes, brightening finishing powders and lippies to create specific looks. Crystal - created for extra light to light skin tones. Nude - created for medium skin tones. Bronze - created for dark skin tones. They look so pretty laid out like that.

Body scrubs is something I don't seem talk so much about and I'm not really sure why. I tried a few throughout 2013 but there wasn't one that really stood out until I got this one. Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Exfoliating Body Scrub came highly recommended, so I got my hands on a tube during the Crabtree & Evelyn Secret Garden Launch at Pavilion late last year (read here).

The Butterfly Project''s string of events and parties ended with a year end Luau with Kinohimitsu, a popular health/beauty brand. Held at Villa Manja, it was a time to chill out, mingle and have fun. Being a Luau, it was a Hawaiian themed party.. for the most part. I was expecting hula dancers and the likes.. instead there were some strange futuristic 'modern' performance. Obviously I was expecting too much.

I had the most exciting afternoon with the Bobbi Brown team yesterday. First I had the privilege of meeting Kai Vinson, Bobbi Brown’s Regional Director of Education & Artistry in Asia Pacific who works closely with Bobbi Brown herself every season during New York Fashion Week. Second I got a sneak preview of Bobbi Brown's Spring/Summer 2014 colours and third I got to hang out with some of Bobbi Brown's makeup artists and watch how they do things. Okay so that's just a summary of what went on yesterday and these are but some of the photos I'll be sharing with you guys for now. I promise there will be more real soon. So if you're a huge Bobbi Brown fan, like me, you wouldn't want to miss it. :)

There is something so real about black and white photos. I have hardly done black and white on the blog as emphasis is usually on colours. So I decided to play around with some shots over the weekend. I didn't realise I was making so many faces while doing it that it could be collaged. I really liked the way it turned out though.. the shots not the faces, although that's always fun!

A new year, another year older. What better way to kick start the year with an anti-aging product review. Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream was released some time late last year. I had plans to try it sooner but had to put it on hold as I was having frequent breakout episodes. I blame it on hormones and stress, just had to wait it out.

As much as I would love to say 2013 has been as amazing as years before, it hasn't really. If 2013 were a movie, I would have given it mixed reviews. However I am grateful for the unexpected opportunities and thankful for all your support. Here's to hoping for a better and more fulfilling 2014.. Happy New Year!! x

When I saw the board up for 8oz Eight Ounce Coffee at KLCC, where Coffee Bean used to be I was looking forward to a new coffee place to hang out at. Had high hopes for it too. Excited to see it open for business yesterday when I walked passed yesterday.
