Review: Origins Smarty Plants CC SPF20/PA++ Skin Complexion Corrector

By 16:20 ,

After 10 years of extensive research Origins brings you Origins Smarty Plants CC SPF20/PA++ Skin Complexion Corrector which helps turns environments stressors into skin protection using S.M.A.R.T. technology (Self Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology). It corrects, protects and perfects. It features a new Intuitive Delivery System technology. How does it work? Well basically this system is triggered when it is exposed to environmental agressors thereby causing the encapsulated plant ingredients to activate and deploy skincare benefits.

The three system approach would explain it better...

System One – PROTECT : Encapsulated key ingredients activates when exposed to UV, ozone and pollution. Green & White Tea release age-fighting antioxidants when skin is exposed to UV rays. Vitamin C and Vitamin E protect skin against pollution, ozone and environmental stressors. Thermus Thermophilus, a microscopic algae converts oxidative stress from pollution into light hydration.

System Two – PERFECT : It perfects skin’s surface texture with time-released smoothing ingredients. Encapsulated Salicylic Acid and Chestnut Extract is gradually released to smooth skin’s surface texture creating a “flawless” complexion over time.

System Three – CORRECT : Plant coated mineral pigments instantly corrects blotchy and intuitively adjusts to match skin tones.

Various other ingredients included..

Upon application, Origins Smarty PlantsCC SPF20/PA++ Skin Complexion Creator is suppose to instantly colour correct while evening out the skin tone, boosts radiance, hydrates and reduces fine lines.

I suppose I pretty much knew what to expect even before trying out this new product from Origins. The shades that will be available in Malaysia counters and the one I'll be reviewing in light to medium. Since it colour corrects it suppose to match to your skin tone upon application.

Origins Smarty Plants CC has an ultra light cream texture, it feels almost water based. It also has this really soft floral scent which I like. It's a natural scent that's from the ingredients used, not artificial so you don't have to worry about that. The shade comes out light-fair from the tube but does seem to colour correct once blended out without looking too fair or discoloured. Perhaps what I found most promising about this Origins Smart Plants CC is the shade. It has an almost neutral shade without the usual strong pink pigments that other CC Creams have. So once it colour corrects, my complexion appears bright though slightly fair but I can still get away with it. The coverage however is very light and is not buildable. My complexion does appear some what smoother and my skin tone a tad even but it doesn't afford any coverage at all. Which means if you have pigmentation or acne scars like me, it'll still be visible.

Origins Smarty Plants CC works really well at moisturising. Perhaps a little too well on my oily skin. My complexion appeared shiny upon application and it didn't last all too long. About 45 on me before it melted away and I got even shinier, but that's just me though.

Origins Smarty Plants CC would work best on dry-normal skin and I think might just work on you babes with yellow undertones that's not too strong. Also works best for those with minor imperfections. It launches in September so it's worth having a look as it colour correcting properties shows a fair bit more promise compared to others that I've tried.

It will retail for RM 140 (40ml) and will only be available in Light to Medium shade.
