Chocolate Cats: Jewellery

So my Akiyo story begins with... I would really like to say rings as they have some nice ones but since that particular one I liked was not available in my size so I would have to say, some charms and a silver bracelet. Jewellery makes wonderful gifts especially at Christmas. Akiyo Jewellery has some nice bracelets, rings, necklaces, earrings if you're looking for something for your girl, sister, bff and/or mom.

I have had an obsession with silver jewellery since forever. Not that I don't like gold, I just seem to be more attracted towards silver. I almost never leave home without at least 6 pieces of silver jewellery on me. That would be the 3 pairs of silver earring on my ears. Then comes the rings, bracelets and necklaces. So I was super excited when Ollie Jewellery got in touch with me.

I was lusting over some serious bling at Suen Jewellers recently during their Bloggers Tea Party. How could I not especially with a brilliant neck piece costing over RM174,000 starring at me right in the face. As it is, I have been breaking my kitty bank ever so often to fund my endless shopping sprees, so I'm just going to continue lusting. *sighh*

Suen Jewellers named after the owner who used to be one half of The Carat Club, was founded in 2010. They carry their in house brand made and designed by their own designers at their onsite factory as well as a few other brands.

The highlight of the tea session was the introduction/launch of Le Rêve Jewellery first collection. We were informed that the collection arrived earlier in the day which made it that much more exciting being the first few people to lay eyes on such gorgeous pieces. Le Rêve literally means "The Dream" in French. Being a French brand, the design could either be delicate and fine or bold and exquisite. I find this first collection to be a mix of both.

There are quite a few new things that I want to share with you guys but I have been busy with so many things over the past few days including finalising some really exciting stuff for the Blog Birthday Giveaway happening Sunday evening or perhaps Monday morning. Haven't decided on that one yet, looks like you guys just have to wait a little bit longer to find out. *smiles*

I was at a Bazaar the whole afternoon yesterday. Thanks to Tammy of plusizekitten I was invited to explore Urbane Bazaar at First Subang Mall which is at the other end of the world from where I live but great for you guys who live in the Subang Jaya and nearby areas.

The bazaar has a decent amount of vendors catering to mostly the girls but there are two vendors selling guy stuff. There's a wide variety of jewellery stuff, bags and accessories. There are also some vendors selling clothes and one selling super cute random stuff.

I was trying not to buy too much due to my recent online acquisitions but I am so weak when it comes to jewellery. Despite being fussy I managed to spot a few pieces I fancied which I bought. *shakes head* I have been into chunky pieces for while now and I thought the ones I got made a good addition to my collection.

After the shopping I went for a treat at Sherlyn's Little Dream which sells homemade cakes and desserts. It's a fairly new cafe started about a year ago. Sherlyn makes only a limited amount of cakes, brownies and desserts per day and is currently promoting her brownies. Using my voucher, I was entitled to a piece of brownie, a choice of another cake or dessert and either tea or coffee. I opted to try the Lemon Tiramisu. It was a pleasant surprise this one was. I am insanely picky when it comes to brownies so this one caught me off guard. It's the chewy type of brownie, my kind of brownie. The chocolate is rich and the texture heavy. You have an option of having it served with ice cream. The Lemon Tiramisu has a great balance of flavours. Love the fact that I can actually taste the lemon. Seem to be going for everything lemony lately. The Oreo Cheesecake Jean had was delicious too. Sherlyn doesn't skimp with the ingredients, making me wishing she had an outlet in KL. *sigh* So if guys are in the Subang Jaya area or live nearby, you have to drop by to try the cakes and desserts.

I also managed to get my nails done some where in between at My Love Nail. They did a pretty decent job with the express manicure. Though I felt the choice of colours are quite limited. On my nails are Miami Beet and Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI?. Jean had this pretty red glitter shade which looked great in photos. I have to try it the next time I get a mani. The express manicure costs RM20.

Another pleasant surprise.. I got an early birthday present from Tammy. Yayy!! I'm not going to reveal what it is yet. I plan to style it with one of my outfits and you guys will see it then. *winks*

Chocolate dessert cravings. I blame it entirely on that amazing Chocolate Cake from THIRTY8 (write up here). Looking forward to the Chocolate Tart some time soon though. *pats tummy* Amazed I could still fit into those floral denims after the cookies and dessert spree I've been on the past nine days. It's one of my current faves which I have been wearing to death. Need to find more printed bottoms. That's going to be a challenge. *fingers ready to click for online shopping*

Kicking off the week on a chirpy note. Okay there's still a few hours to go but it's practically Monday already. *boo hoo*

I'm in Female Magazine's May issue. Yayy! I nearly skipped the page because I didn't recognise myself *shakes head*. I did a review for them about a month back on L'Occitane's Immortelle Brightening Essence. It's suppose to correct wrinkles, evens out the skin tone and brightens the complexion. So if you guys are interested in trying out this serum flip through my review in Female. :)

Spent Sunday making more of those pretty bracelets. So I guess this would be Les Brilliants Part Two (and counting..). I'm hooked, which means there will be more. I'm thinking of semi precious stones next or maybe crystals. Pacific opal is looking very dreamy right about now..

I can't get these songs out of my head, it's insane! Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye feat. Kimbra is so perfect. The music, the lyrics, it's simple but it goes so much deeper. When it comes to Usher, he is mind blowing. In my books he can do no wrong. So when I heard Phillip Phillips covered You Got It Bad, I was just glued to the tele. Yes I watch American Idol. *bashful smile* I haven't exactly been following it much since Simon Cowell left but this season has been really impressive. Phillip did justice to the song and completely made it his own. The growl is irresistible. Soo sexy!! Pretty obvious who I'm rooting for. *melts*

I know these songs aren't exactly inspiring but I love it so much that I've been listening to it over and over again while getting back into one of the things that I enjoy doing. Jewellery making. I go back to it now and then but lately I'm feeling inspired do a bit more. Too many ideas in my head. Wish I had more time. Spending my weekend creating pretty lil things and trying out a new hair oil from Kérastase which I will be reviewing soon.

I lurv a perfectly stacked arm and despite my ever growing collection, I still wan't more pretty bracelets. So I decided to DIY some with styles and colours I fancy.

Mixing and matching your jewellery is always a great way to get the look you want. I was going for a fun look with complimenting colours. Turned out pretty! These are so fun and easy to make and needless to say I'm hooked and I'm making more, in different colours. Though I'm finding it such a task sourcing out brass materials and acrylic rhinestone chains here. *sigh*

Have I professed my lurv for jewellery and accessories on my blog yet? But then again I seem to be in lurv with too many things that I've lost track. I hate to admit it but I'm running out of space to store them all and yet it's not going to stop me from getting new ones *evil laugh*. I found a new place to stalk and get jewellery and accessories from, it goes by the name of Jean's Closet. I'm guessing coz she's got loads of stuff in her closet. Lol!

Jean's Closet gets her jewellery and accessories from the UK. Personally handpicks them and at a very reasonable price too! This turned out to be a one-on-one workshop for me! This meant that I had the OE Fine Jewellery outlet all to myself and I would get to try on jewellery without having anyone else waiting their turn. *evil laugh*

A wonderful change from the usual makeup and skincare workshops I usually find myself in. Greeted by Lina Chua (Head of Marketing) and Janet Khew (HR Manager) as I walked in, my eyes were already wondering around the outlet in awe of such gorgeous jewelleries.

A brief history - OE has a history of more than 100 years dating back to 1906 in Muenster, Germany. The OE factory in Penang was established in 1974 at Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone and specialises in gold and platinum jewellery, set with precious gems. Today, OE exports to 39 countries worldwide. It's creations are found in some of the finest stores in the world, such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue of New York; and Mitsukoshi of Japan, among others. In Malaysia, OE retails direct to customers through its showrooms in Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

Over the years, OE has carved a niche for itself in the global jewellery industry, winning awards at international trade shows such as the International Pearl Design Award, Jewel of the Year, the Golden Shell and many more.

This workshop highlights their C-Natasha Collection. Lina and Janet showed me various ways of wearing pendants from this collection. They can either be worn with the chains they come with either in 18 carat gold or white gold, with a string of pearls or with a specially designed black cord. I thought the coolest part was wearing the pendant attached to the cord as a loose belt plus the earrings clipped on to the ends. Omg! It would make any LBD look super amazing!

Lina then went on to show me around and introduce various other collections such as the Rudolf Erdel Platinum and Lillian Too’s Auspicious Jewellery Collections and award winning pieces such as the double ring which I thought was a ridiculous piece to wear but a great design. And those precious gems! Oh wow! The pendant set with a brilliant piece of Tanzanite was definitely eye catching. The Black Diamond Collection sets itself handsomely apart from the rest.

One particular piece caught my eye as I walked around the outlet. An amazingly gorgeous white gold pendant set with diamonds. The design on this piece was intricately beautiful. The workmanship, amazing! Price tag: About RM26,000!! I'm not exactly sure when I'll be able to afford it but I've definitely fallen in lurv! I can't show you a close-up picture of it for obvious reasons but here's a picture of me wearing it. *enter Cheshire Cat smile*

The more expensive jewelleries in the showroom are from the Platinum Collection which may range from RM250,00 and above.

Pigita dropped by as my session ended for another tour around the outlet. Still couldn't stop going 'ooo aaa'!
