The weekend I was hungry & felt seafood-ish..

With signs saying "Run Forrest Run" & "Stop Forrest Stop", it's pretty obvious it all revolves around Forrest Gump! I've watched the movie so many times.. You just can't forget the phrase "Life is like a box of chocolates, you'll never know what you're gonna get.." So eat more chocolates!! Lol!!

The ambience is great for any occasion. They have a good selection of seafood dishes but also caters to those who prefer chicken of beef with limited choices. The drinks menu is quite good too.

Bubba's Bake Seafood Rice RM28.90

Shrimp, calamari, fish, spinach and rice with Parmesan cream sauce topped with Jack & Cheddar cheese. Served with a side of coleslaw.

Coleslaw - Fresh & crunchy. Not drenched with mayo..

Gooey & yummy. A great example of how cheese goes well with everything. The seafood was fresh. The combination of Parmesan, Jack & Cheddar cheese made this dish heavenly heavy and terribly filling. Despite the amount of cheese, it didn't overpower the taste of the seafood. As this is a large portion, it's best to share because you might feel like its a bit much half way through going at it alone. Great for cheese lovers!

House Salad RM8.90

The greens were fresh & still crunchy. But it was a bit drenched though. Not really complaining as I rather fancied the dressing. It had a nice zesting zing to it with generous shavings of Parmesan. Should I ask for dressing on the side next time? Naahh! :P

Alabama Mud Pie RM22.90

Cool layers of chocolate and vanilla ice cream with chunks of Snickers are separated with a ribbon of caramel. And if that doesn't spark your sweet tooth, we top it up with streams of chocolate syrup, whipped cream and crunchy peanuts.

One word - HUGE!! Apart from it being ice cream galore I found it a bit disappointing. I wouldn't call this a sweet dessert because it didn't spark my sweet tooth at all. I only found a few bits of Snickers and the chocolate syrup wasn't streaming. The chocolate biscuit base wasn't sweet either. I guess you're just suppose to enjoy this because its ice cream. Don't really think its worth the money. Serves about 4-5 people.. And I had it all to myself! No I didn't.. ;)

What a way to start off the morning! Especially when I woke at 545am on Saturday..

I want them all!

Organised by NuYou together with Burt's Bees, we were invited to the poolside of the Royale Bintang Hotel after a warm welcome greeting from Jo of Burt's Bees. Candi Soo of Candi Soo Fitness, kicked start the workshop with a Yogataal session by the poolside. Nice place to conduct a yoga session. If only the session was a bit more less stressful. It was more fast paced than the yoga i'm used to, but it was a different and interesting experience nonetheless.

After the blood pumping yoga session, we were treated to light snacks and honey/lemon drinks. The workshop then continued with a short video presentation on everything Burt's Bees. They believe in "earth-friendly natural skin care, natural beauty and natural personal care products". I'm all for it! Jo also shared tips on how to eat healthier and take care of our body using all natural products.

I won a lip shimmer and a hand salve from the Q&A session afterwards! All I did was look for something in my bag that used all natural products.. I gave them the Burt's Bees Pomegranate lip balm which I bought last week. I knew that was a good move.. lol!

The DIY session was informative and exciting. Each table was given cups of honey and 2 eggs to make a mask. As I have oily skin, I had to mix together the egg whites and honey. Egg whites have an astringent like property and honey was to sooth the skin. Washed it off after a few minutes and my skin was less shiny and felt fresh! I'm definitely going to DIY this at home.

Carina, training manager for Bobbi Brown then took over to introduce the Pretty Powerful Campaign which sent out a very strong message. It's all about enhancing your natural beauty without having to hide behing thick heavy make-up. Lurving this video! A Bobbi Brown make-up artist then demonstrated on a model simple techniques on how to get a fresh natural look. I must get my hands on that cream blusher, its great for a pop of colour! Pretty! Bobbi Brown also had mini makeovers after the workshop.

Before the workshop ended, there were lucky draws! 5 fitness vouchers from Candi Soo Fitness and 5 hampers from Bobbi Brown. Lucky indeed! Despite wanting to rob Adrienne and Rane who were sitting next to me as both won the Bobbi Brown hampers, I went home happy with the goodies I got.. lol..

Just as we thought it was over and it was time to get going, we were told that lunch was served at the Coffee House downstairs! Buffet lunch! Omg! Burt's Bees really spoilt us!

Thank you soo soo much Burt's Bees & Nu You for a rocking workshop and goodies filled goodie bag! Couldn't ask for more.. :)

After meeting up with some friends for lunch at OU I just had to do a quick stop over at the Curve to check out the first Burt's Bees' outlet in Malaysia. Was thinking of going next week since I'm going to the Burt's Bees' Workshop organised by Nüyou Magazine at The Royale Bintang but what the heck I was already nearby.

I headed straight to the lip balm corner when I got into the outlet. Been dying to try out their Pomegranate Lip Balm. Well it was a no brainer that I had to get it after trying it out. Hmm.. I can't possibly just get one item right. Get another one! Lol!

Tried out their Lip Shimmer which comes in about 11 shades and narrowed it down to three - Rhubarb, Raisin and Fig. Lurving all three but promised myself I wouldn't blow my budget so I had to settle for just one. For this week at least. Next week is the dawn of a new day (Burt's Bees' Workshop *wink wink*). My pick was FIG. It's a great colour for me as pinkish ones don't usually show on my lips.

But didn't see the Super Shiny Lip Gloss around yet. Overheard one of the Sales Assistant say that there'll be another shipment coming in soon.

Did a quick round checking out their other products and found that they're slightly pricey considering that they're a drugstore brand in the US. Might decide to try out something else the next time round. For today I'm just happy with my balm & shimmer. :)
