One of the coolest things a chocolate freak could recieve in the post is an invitation made out of chocolate. Since we're in sunny humid Malaysia that's never going to happen unless it gets couriered over straight to your hands in an ice box, else you might be receiving an unattractive puddle of chocolate. So what's the next best thing, an invitation with a bottle of chocolates attached! *big smiles*

Made my day when I recieved a bottle of chocolates specifically picked out to represent the product that will be introduced here very soon. It's Clinique's Even Better Makeup that treats and prevents skin discolouration. Now tell me that doesn't intrigue you. The spotted chocolate represents the skin condition before whereas the smooth white chocolate represents what the skin will look like after continued use. Brilliantly thought of and I'm liking the sound of it. Will have more info for you guys real soon.

Now what could I possible do with a bottle of choccies? Well unscrew the bottle and enjoy them while typing this post. *chomp chomps* Like I said, one of the coolest!

Noticed how some chocolate desserts taste absolutely gorgeous. It may well be Valrhona! Used by World Class hotels and the finest restaurants in divine chocolate desserts the world over, Valrhona chocolate used to only be available in Malaysia from Gourmandines.com.

But guess what?! Bangsar Village Grocers has brought in Valrhona!!

70 gram per bar for RM20.90

90 grams = 18 squares for RM44.90
Comes in a slim tin container

If you're still wondering what I'm going on about, Valrhona is a French chocolate Manufacturer focusing on high-grade luxury chocolate either for professional use or personal cosumption. It has been around since 1922. Valrhona is about the same price as Godiva & Neuhaus.

The type of cocoa beans used vary, giving it different flavours. The cocoa ranges from 40% to 80%. Simply heavenly for Dark Chocolate Lovers!!

You didn't think I'd just tell you this without bringing some home with me did you.. *winks*

Tainori

100% Pure Dominican Republic. Born from very old plantation in the Domincan Republic, Tainori gradually reveals hints of yellow fruits followed by lingering nutty notes over a backdrop of cocoa and freshly-baked bread.

Ingredients: Cocoa beans (Min 64%), Sugar, Cocoa butter, Emulsifier: Soya Lecithin, Vanilla

Uniquely cut bar

It may look like any other dark chocolate but trust me, it tastes absolutely delightful. It has a wonderful fruity taste! Though described as intense, I'm thinking more along the lines of strong. It's enough to satisfy my chocolate cravings. *big smiles*

A new place in town! That corner lot on the second floor right outside Isetan Lot 10 finally opened on Friday last week. So excited coz this meant that I'd be able to try out new desserts. *grinss*

As I walked in I was rather impressed with the decor. It had a wonderful European aura about it. Only later did I find out from Florence, one of Cafe Vienna's managers that all the furniture, fittings, prints as well as the wall paper were imported all the way from Austria by the owner! He wanted it to have an original Austrian feel from the food right down to the decor. Despite the feeling of classic simplicity, it's rather cozy and a great place to just chill out.

I'm liking the mirror effect up above

Noticed that each clock stops at a different times

Cafe Vienna serves quite a variety of dishes. Most of which are traditionally Austrian, from Schnitzel, Veal Bratwust to Kaiserschmavn and strudel. The cakes are freshly made and are kept no longer than 2 days to ensure freshness.

First stop, cake display. I had already decided that it would be a dessert outing. :P And then it got Wild..

Salzburger Nockerl - RM14

Soufflé that assembles the 3 mountain of Salzburg served with hot cream, apricot jam, raspberry and chocolate sauce.

Lovely!

Notice how high the Soufflé rose

A typical Austrian dessert from the region of Salzburg.

It left a trail of delicious aroma as the waiter placed it on my table which nearly floored me. It looked impressive in the soufflé dish. My first thought when I had the first bite - lovely!  Smooth, light and practically melted in my mouth. It wasn't too sweet, which made it go so well with the hot cream and raspberry sauce.

I  ♥ the Salzburger Nockerl!

Chocolate Caramel Banana - RM12.50

Chocolate dessert for chocolate lovers.

Chocolate sponge topped with mashed banana covered with chocolate caramel mousse  and chocolate icing. Dusted with chocolate bits to finish. (Wow, that's a mouthful of chocolate!)

Flavours that go really well together. The chocolate mousse was smooth and light, not too sweet. The dark chocolate icing, rich. But I found the sponge a tad bit dry. Otherwise I quite liked it. :)

Sacher - RM12.50
(aka Sachertorte aka Chocolate Cake)

Served with whipped cream (traditionally served this way) and best enjoyed with a shot of espresso.

The most classic of Viennese desserts. The last time I had a yummy Sachertorte was on my trip to Vienna.. ;)

More cream please..

The chocolate icing is so camera friendly :P

Look at how the apricot jam spills out by the sides

With a dollop of cream

A dense chocolate sponge with a layer of apricot jam in between, topped with a generous layer of dark chocolate icing. The chocolate was rich but not sweet. This made me enjoy the chocolate experience even more. And to have it served with whipped cream just added to the richness of the Sachertorte. But I found the chocolate sponge to be a tad bit dry. Still, this is a must try for chocolate lovers!

I was told by Florence that some people prefer it to be served without the cream. Seriously.. they don't know what they're missing out on. What is Sachertorte without the cream. ;)

Raspberry Vanilla Cream - RM12.50

A favourite among Viennese women and best enjoyed with Darjeeling Tea.

Enticing thick layer of cream

I just had to.. Lol!

Truthfully it was the red lips sitting pretty on top that attracted me to it. Lol! It is a vanilla sponge with swirls of raspberry coated in a thick layer of smooth rich cream. Raspberry and cream always goes so well together. The sponge cake was also a tad bit dry. Otherwise this is perfect for a light afternoon tea.

Will I go back?

I'll be back for sure! I'd lurv to try out their other desserts and maybe some food too, if I ever make it past the dessert section.

Ritter Sport Limited Edition for Summer 2010 is here! I saw this while doing my usual Sunday thing at Bangsar Village Grocer. This German chocolate brand has released 3 new flavours - Stracciatella, Waldbeer Joghurt (Yoghurt Berries) & Pfirsich-Maracuja Joghurt (Peach-Passion Fruit Yoghurt).

Stracciatella

Filled milk chocolate with a cream of milk and chocolate chips

OMG! I'm lost for words with the Stracciatella. Its heavenly! The milk cream is so smooth & rich. The generous sprinkle of chocolate chips lends a perfect balance to the milk cream. The milk chocolate gorgeous as always. Every square millimetre perfect!
*thinking of a Stracciatella ice cream now.. ;p*

Waldbeer Joghurt (Yoghurt Berries)

Filled milk chocolate with Wild Berries (blueberry, blackberry and strawberry) and yoghurt.

Pfirsich-Maracuja Joghurt (Peach-Passion Fruit Yoghurt)

Filled white chocolate with Peach-Passion Fruit and yoghurt.

If you like the original Ritter Yoghurt, the two new yoghurt ones would be just like the original but with an exciting fruity twist.

I wanted to be greedy and buy all 3 but there's too much choccies as it is in my fridge. So I decided on the Stracciatella first and the other 2 next week.. *droolzzzz* I'm still a die hard fan of their Marzipan & Butter Biscuit though.. *sigh*

Ritter / chocolate fans out there, you just have to get these gorgeous limited edition yummies!!
