Mediterranean beauty secret no more! Extra Virgin Olive Oil has been used for centuries as part of a natural beauty and skin care ingredient as it's an antioxidant rich in vitamins and minerals.

When it comes to Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a beauty product, I assume it'll naturally be super moisturising. Which means, if it were in a foundation, it would be a huge no no for my oily-combination skin but since it's a lip balm, super moisturising is a thumbs up. This Olive Lip Balm from Simunovich Olive Estate helps protect against dry, cracked, damaged lips. In case you're wondering, which I'm sure you are, it's a brand out of New Zealand which makes their own brand of extra virgin olive oil and all natural skin care products Olive and Tebe.

This Olive lip balm comes in a squeeze tube which is a super plus for hygiene purposes. I don't really fancy dipping my finger into a pot you see. I really like the light texture which absorbs with ease without feeling sticky. It leaves my lips feeling soft, comfortable and I notice that I don't have to reapply it ever so often. It has a light yellow tinge and has a faint fragrance which reminds me of a cross between honey and cinnamon *yumms.. but no taste though..*. It's suitable for all skin types.

Now you're ready to smooch away with those soft lips! *winks*

Simunovich Olive Lip Balm retails at RM24/10ml and is available from their counters at Metrojaya, The Curve and Bukit Bintang Plaza.

After meeting up with some friends for lunch at OU I just had to do a quick stop over at the Curve to check out the first Burt's Bees' outlet in Malaysia. Was thinking of going next week since I'm going to the Burt's Bees' Workshop organised by Nüyou Magazine at The Royale Bintang but what the heck I was already nearby.

I headed straight to the lip balm corner when I got into the outlet. Been dying to try out their Pomegranate Lip Balm. Well it was a no brainer that I had to get it after trying it out. Hmm.. I can't possibly just get one item right. Get another one! Lol!

Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil - RM18

Tried out their Lip Shimmer which comes in about 11 shades and narrowed it down to three - Rhubarb, Raisin and Fig. Lurving all three but promised myself I wouldn't blow my budget so I had to settle for just one. For this week at least. Next week is the dawn of a new day (Burt's Bees' Workshop *wink wink*). My pick was FIG. It's a great colour for me as pinkish ones don't usually show on my lips.

My 3 fave shades..

Lip Shimmer in Fig - RM31.80

But didn't see the Super Shiny Lip Gloss around yet. Overheard one of the Sales Assistant say that there'll be another shipment coming in soon.

Did a quick round checking out their other products and found that they're slightly pricey considering that they're a drugstore brand in the US. Might decide to try out something else the next time round. For today I'm just happy with my balm & shimmer. :)

This lip balm was featured in Cleo December issue. I was so attracted by the pretty packaging that I had to go get one to try out. I love trying out new lip balms!

Pomegranate Sweet Treats Lip Balm

Retail price :
RM32 for 20gm/0.7oz

Texture :
It slighty hard in the tin but it goes on smoothly. It's light & moisturising.

Colour :
Although the description on the Urban Rituelle site states that it's lightly tinted, the colour for Pomegranate does not show on the lips. Perhaps a deeper colour like Cherry would show.

Flavour :
I don't taste anything. Lol! But i'm fine with it.

Scent :
It has a light sweet scent close enough to being Pomegranate-ish. But it's not sickly sweet.

Packaging:
It may not be very hygienic because it involves dipping your finger into the tin but it's pretty! ;p
