Happy Birthday To You!

It was my bro's Brithday yesterday (6/1). Shall not mention his age since neither of us are that young anymore. Lol.. Had lunch at Sogo's Japanese Restaurant. The food is really good and reasonably priced.

Chocolate cake *drool*
Guess who finished the cake.. Clue: Not the Birthday Boy! ;p

This is what I ordered.. I think it's called Nabeyaki Udon..
It was light and the soup was good - RM18

Chicken Tepanyaki Set - RM28
Chicken was tender & flavourful, Sprouts crunchy just nice..

Mini indoor garden

The jelly looked pretty.. Just had to..
Yummy!

Since I can't get you one of those fancy racing cars or lots & lots of money, my present to you this year is this post to commemorate your Birthday by. Yeah I know I'm an amazing sis, you don't have to tell me.. Lol! Big Hugzzz!

Elvis Presley aka The King : 8th January (Capricorn)

It was ages ago since my last pair of Converse. It was the skater looking type, black with brown bits on the side. Cushiony & quite comfortable. Practically lived in it.

Last month I had the sudden urge to get myself another pair. This time the Chuck Taylor All Star low tops. As I embarked on my hunt I realised that it was rather difficult to find my size. Forget about looking for it at the Converse stand alone stores because they were out of the smaller sizes and only the larger sizes were on display.

Midvalley Outlet

Me: As I went to the shop assistant with the shoe I wanted, " Do you have this in...". Didn't even get to finish my question.

SA: "Oh finish already."

Me: Picked up another colour. "....." Didn't even get to ask.

SA: "Also finish."

Me: What was at the tip of my tongue, "Kalau size semua dah habis you bukak kedai buat apa? Jual badan ke?"

No I didn't say it. Wish I did cause it was getting annoying. Then it dawned on me.. it's school holidays that's why a lot of the sizes are gone. Its gotta be those kids! Converse is popular amongst teens & young adults and here I am trying to recapture my youth during school holidays. What was I thinking.

Just as I decided to wait for new stock to come in I came across Three Point Six at OU on Saturday. Maybe it was meant to be, they had my size! Just not in the colour I wanted. Was really hoping to get them in grey but settled for navy instead for RM99.90. Yay!

They're definitely not as comfortable as trainers or my previous cushiony kind but they look so freaking good with jeans! It's great if you're going for the urban look. Plus you can pair it with almost anything. But be warned it's not suitable if you're planning to do a lot of walking (due to the non-cushioned rubber soles) only if you're planning on looking good. Lol!

I suddenly feel inspired to come up with outfits Converse style.. For you babes that don't do heels much, wait for this.. *wink*

Happy New Year!
Wishing You Guys An Amazing Year Ahead!

What a way to start the New Year 01/01/10! I found myself in front of Parkson KLCC with shutters still down at 9.45am with Miu. Noticed that  a crowd was growing at the Isetan Concourse entrance. Still contemplating whether I should get the Isetan Lucky Bags. I figured I'd redeem the Harajuku Lovers Fragrance sample first since that doesn't require me spending any money. Lucky for us Parkson opened the shutters at 9.55am. There I was walking swiftly behind Miu. Got our samples and quickly walked over to Isetan.

Harajuku Lovers Fragrance Samples

There we were Miu, Kit with beautiful daughter Sofiah (*sorry ar, my hearing a bit something wrong*) & me in front of Isetan Ground Floor entrance. Strange that people were waiting at the floor below and there were only a few of us at G. Not complaining just puzzled. 10 sharp the shutters started to retract & Miu rolled up her jeans ready to leg it. Not even half way up we went down the shutters and RAN towards the escalators. I noticed the SAs at the cosmetic counters found it all too funny. That was the first time I've ran into Isetan shutters half up. Had I known I would've have worn trainers! Lol!

Miu was the 1st at the skincare & cosmetics table, me 2nd & Kitty right behind me. It was nuts! After that the line just got longer. In Miu's words "Grab the bill first decided whether you want it after". Good advice. ;p I succumbed to the excitement and got myself a Lucky Bag! It was worth it.

After the mad rush and dozens of lucky bags later, Miu, SexyMummy, Pigita & I went for a drink to check out the bags. I was missing a pair of earrings from Denni but I didn't really need it anyway. Since you can't really pick & choose whats in the lucky bag it's really just your luck what you get. Here's what I got in mine.

The Elle bag is worth RM229 with the tag still on.
Guess purse must be quite pricey too.
Gonna check out the price next week. ;p

Bits of everything.

Shoe vouchers for a bunch of shoes that I don't buy.
Oh well..

After our rest sesh you'd think that was it. Nooo! We ended up in Isetan again, with Pigita & Miu buying more lucky bags. Shopoholics.. you just can't stop them ;).

I had to leave by 3. Yes, 3pm! I was there for 5 hours 15 mins. The best part is I've been going to KLCC everyday this week. Again, nuts! I know..

Til next year's lucky bags.. Trainers on!

It snowed for the last time at Pavilion last nite. Well at least for this year. I finally got around to taking pictures of it. It was foam from a machine placed way up at the main entrance. Cheap thrill. Entertaining. It sure kept me amused for about 20 mins. Lol!

The Body Shop started its post-Christmas sale on Christmas day. Some of the gift sets are going for 25% discount. Individual items can be bought at 10-20% discount. Lurv the Merry Cranberry & Toasted Nutmeg range!

I'm doing a mini giveaway next week & it has something to do with this cute lil' furball..

Stay tuned to find out what it's about.. ;)

It was FUN! Loads of food! Loads more cake! Doesn't this seem to be a pattern with me, if there's food it's fun.. Lol!

They had a balloon guy & a magician going around entertaining guests. Balloon guy fashioned a blue flower for me, which could've also double as a faux mini fan or a mini windmill. How cool is that. ;p

The Chocolate Cake was yummy, so was the yule log. I must remind myself to ask Miu of she knows where they got the cakes from.

Semi-cat pose ready to pounce on the food!

The food can't get anymore festive than this..

The cake gets FatiN's stamp of approval for yumminess! *Drool*

Can you see the lil' snowman waving?
It's saying, "Come closer & eat me".

Xmas

I realised when I got home that I had a lot more pics of food. For some reason I seemed to be more interested in the food & as I recall was eating half the time (I must've have hungry.. Hehe). But I did take some non-food pics.. of people.. ;)

I keep bugging Thomas for everything.. Hehe

Miu - Still had time for the camera 15 mins before Avatar started.. ;p

"Hey Mr. Bones, my arm looks just as boney as yours."

I had loads of fun! Thanks Kiehl's for throwing a brilliant Xmas party! xoxo

This lip balm was featured in Cleo December issue. I was so attracted by the pretty packaging that I had to go get one to try out. I love trying out new lip balms!

"Urban Rituelle is an innovative brand of Australian made bath & body care products based in Sydney, Australia. Urban Rituelle is a range of innovative bath, body and beauty products. By using vivid colours and exotic fragrances, it turns the everyday into a visual and aromatic experience. Urban Rituelle products are not tested on animals and are made in Australia." - Urban Rituelle

According to Urban Rituelle, their lip balm, "Soothes & hydrate lips. Enriched with natural Beeswax, Sweet Almond oil, Olive oil, Shea Butter and the added benefit of Vitamin E to keep lips soft & glossy. Also includes sunscreen for extra lip smackin’ protection. Each lip balm tin has a unique, funky design & is lightly tinted with delicious & juicy colours. Ideal for carrying in your pocket or purse." It comes in 18 different flavours & designs.

You can get Urban Rituelle lip balms from Sash at Pavilion. Though not all 18 are available. I saw Pomegranate, Cotton Candy, Ginger, Vanilla, Coconut, Mango, Peach Blossom & Tangerine. Sash doesn't carry a wide variety of Urban Rituelle products but they do have some of the favourites like vegetable soap, soy wax candles & petit perfume. It comes in a set so they make wonderful gifts.

Pomegranate Sweet Treats Lip Balm

Retail price :
RM32 for 20gm/0.7oz

Texture :
It slighty hard in the tin but it goes on smoothly. It's light & moisturising.

Colour :
Although the description on the Urban Rituelle site states that it's lightly tinted, the colour for Pomegranate does not show on the lips. Perhaps a deeper colour like Cherry would show.

Flavour :
I don't taste anything. Lol! But i'm fine with it.

Scent :
It has a light sweet scent close enough to being Pomegranate-ish. But it's not sickly sweet.

Packaging:
It may not be very hygienic because it involves dipping your finger into the tin but it's pretty! ;p

Big shout out to the weekend Hitz.fm Cruisers for hooking me up with the Avatar movie preview tickets. You guys rock!

The preview was last night at GSC OU at 9pm. Big crowd for this highly aniticipated movie of the year. This is James Cameron's big feature after Titanic in 1991.

Synopsis:

"Avatar" is an emotional journey of redemption and revolution. The story tells of a wounded ex-marine, who thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, and eventually crosses over to lead an indigenous race in a battle for survival. Thus, combining the elements of massive spectacle and intimate character that made James Cameron's "Titanic" the highest grossing film of all time. (Source: Cinema Online)

What I Think:

I have to be honest, I'm no good at movie reviews but this was a DAMN GOOD MOVIE! It was GGI-filled with a strong story line. The effects were amazing. It encompasses a whole lot of different things, cultures, animals. This movie transports you to a different place all together. The 4 1/2 years taken to make this movie was worth the wait. I'm definitely watching this again, perhaps in 3D. :)
