My lips have been unsually extra dry over the past 3 months and I have been hunting around for a lip balm that would calm them down. Oily skin, extra dry lips, very challenging I tell you. Since I have heard so many good things about the Nuxe Reve de Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm I figured I would give it a go.
Stila fans, are you reading this? Stila's back in town via Sephora!! Much to my dismay I only one product from Stila to review, the popular Lip Glaze. If it's anything like a cake or cookie glaze, the colour will surely turn out looking yummy.

Stila Lip Glaze is an ultra-high shine lip gloss in a click pen with a brush tip. If you're not use to using a click pen turn it over so that the brush faces up and twist the bottom of the pen to a clicking sound. Do this until you see the gloss ooze out onto the brush. This way you can easily control the amount you need.

Apricot (08) is a melon nectarine shade which appears rather light. Once I swatched it, it came out a very sheer orange beige with micro glitter. Apricot doesn't exactly offer any colour to my lips but it does give that super glossy shine effect. Oh so kissable! A sheer gloss like this one would be great if you're going for a nude lip look or applied over a lip colour. It doesn't dry out my lips and lasts as long as I don't eat anything. It has a sweet vanilla-ish scent that I rather fancy.

I've only had two other Stila Lip Glaze before this and I think it's a fun gloss to have around but is definitely on the pricey side. A must have for Stila fans though!

Stila Lip Glaze are now available at Sephora outlets for RM71 (0.08floz/2.4ml).

I tried Crush from this range and the colour is a show stopper. Urban Decay has come up with two new colours for the Super Saturated High Gloss, Lovechild and Apocalypse.

The formula is just fab! It applies like a dream. The colour is opaque, saturated, high impact and long lasting. This chubby pencil gives you a mega-watt shine and the colour stays on longer than with a lipstick or gloss.

The chubby pencil holds an ultra-creamy formula inside so there is no chance in this lippy going 'squish' or breaking like in a normal lippie case. Each 8mm pencil barrel is color-matched to its shade, making it a piece of cake to find in a messy piece.

I find the texture really creamy and it does a good job at moisturising my lips even without applying a lip balm first thanks to plant derivatives such as Phytosterol which promotes skin hydration and protects the delicate skin on lips. As for the colour Lovechild which is a pale pink hue, the colour looked really pretty when I swatched it. It didn't have the same effect when I applied it on my lips though but it did have a light glossy shine. The colour appeared pale. *sigh* So what I did was applied a very thin layer of foundation on my lips then applied Lovechild on top of it. Well the colour showed a lot better. I have seen this colour on fair skin girls and it comes out beautiful. I'm assuming their natural lip shade would be light as well. Hmm.. I think I prefer Crush on me. The colour stays on for quite a few hours even with bits of munching in between.

Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Colours offers seven bright, fun colours in either creamy or metallic sparkle finishes. To sharpen a chubby pencil you would need a Grind House Sharpener. These are available exclusively at Sephora for RM72.

Watch Me Simmer, my fave from MAC's latest collection. It's a bright pink orange and looks absolutely gorgeous! I seem to be leaning towards brighter colours lately and coral-ish colours seem to suit me quite well.

It comes in a really cool bright coloured packaging same as you see in the promo photos of the Shop MAC Cook MAC Collection. The tube however is the usual black. Since this is an Amplified, not only does it give that creamy effect which does not dry out, it's also highly pigmented giving me this pretty coral shade dancing on my lips! This does stain though. I think it's a good thing coz I didn't need to rush and reapply since there's still colour on my lips. Currently lurving it!

Watch Me Simmer Amplified retails at RM68.

What's two more lip balms to add to my currently six opened ones. Always great to have company. This time it's Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment,  a lip care designed to nourish, protect and plump lips.

This one does a great job at moisturising and making my lips feel smooth. It goes on a tad heavy but doesn't feel sticky or waxy. I find myself reaching for a lip balm less often when I have this one on. It does tend to last until I start to munch. Even then there's always that bit left on my lips and unlike some balms that goes on matte or without effect, this one has a soft sheen to it.

The soft citrusy scent on these lip balms are somewhat calming. I like it. Expect no flavour or taste though. With the tinted ones, you'll get a hint of colour to your lips, like the Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment which is suppose to give that just-bitten pout. It comes out a light shade of pink when I swatched it but the colour was a no show when I applied on my lips. No surprise there as my lips are of a slightly darker shade making light colours almost impossible to show, which explains why I don't have a photo of me wearing it. It would probably show on lighter lips. I have no qualms with it as long as my lips feel moisturised.

Apart from the original and Rose, it also comes in Plum, Honey, and Passion Tints. So try out one of these to see which colour would show if you're looking for a tinted one.

Oh and the tube.. it comes in this classy looking matte metal tube. Likey! Needless to say this heavier than usual lip balm has a durable casing and unlike the conventional click tube it's a screw on. Have to keep reminding myself not to pull off the top.

The main ingredients that makes up Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment are sugar which is known to prevent moisture loss, a superior blend of nourishing oils which includes meadowfoam seed, black currant seed and jojoba, beeswax to seal in moisture and grapeseed polyphenols to protects, smooth and softens. It also contains SPF15 to protect your lips from those nasty uv rays.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment retails at RM65 for 0.15oz at Sephora outlets.

Remember the MAC Me Over collection which was launched for Fall/Winter 2011. Well I have a few of the lipsticks and lipglasses from that collection in case you guys were wondering how some of the shades would look like on a medium skin-toned me. I have with me on the one hand an extreme bright and intensely dark shade and on the other hand some really nude ones. Some crazy dramatic shades on me. Sounds fun already! As with all MAC lippies, expect the vanilla scent.

The Lipsticks

Runaway Red, Prince Noir, Secret Lover

Runaway Red is a blue base medium red lipstick with a hint of fuschia if your eyes can catch it in the photo. The colour is intense even with one layer but with two layer it's pretty much opaque. Its satin finish gives it that bit of creamy look.

Prince Noir is a deep burgundy with red undertones. What can I say, it's dark. I probably wouldn't wear this ever so often, perhaps for a statement lip. That said, it can be toned down with some gloss. This is a matte finish.

Secret Lover more along the lines of barely there with loads of fine gold shimmer. I suppose the lustre finish says it all. Great to mix and tone down brighter or darker shades.

The Lipglasses

Good Times is a light pink mauve. It appears a creamy nude pink on my lips and despite applying two layers, does not appear to cover my lip colour. Still clearly visible. Great for mixing and toning down brighter or darker shades.

Illicit is a light peach beige with micro shimmer. It appears a creamy nude beige on my lips and just as Good Times, despite applying two layers, does not cover my lip colour. I suppose I could use this if I'm going for a nude look. Otherwise i'll be mixing and toning down with this one. I found this one to settle a lot quicker on my lips compared to Good Times.

If these lipsticks and lipglasses are still around at MAC counters, they retail at RM68 each.

For you guys celebrating the Chinese New Year, may the year of the Dragon be an awesome one!

So.. I have been contemplating on getting another lippie from MAC. It was between Crosswires or Vegas Volt. But for some strange reason Vegas Volt isn't available in Malaysia, so I decided to put that one on hold. Recently Crosswires found its way to me *rejoice*.  It isn't exactly a new colour and is part of the permanent line.

MAC Cremesheen in Crosswires is a pretty shade of coral pink. Since it's a cremesheen formula like Lickable *fave* it's rich, well pigmented and leaves a soft sheen on the lips. Though I would still suggest applying a light layer of lip balm before. I lurv how it has that look-at-me vibe yet still appears rather subdued. Plus it's great for the coming Spring. At times like this I prefer to conveniently ignore the fact that I'm living in a country with only that one season. Lol! This is also one of those lippies which would look great on most skin tones.

For a very soft look with Crosswires I just dab it on my lips and smudge it out with my finger, comes out a stained look. Pretty without trying too hard. For a splash of colour I apply two layers of it, with a brush for a perfect lip line. Still pretty but a tad more daring. Great staying power too. Lurv it!

MAC Cremesheen range retails at RM68. For my previous write up on MAC Cremesheen in Lickable click here.

The much lurved Black Honey will not be flying solo any longer. Clinique has come up with seven new shades to Almost Lipstick. Like the original Black Honey, it's sheer and compliments most if not all skin tones. It ranges from nudes, pinks, violets and reds.  It will no doubt be on everyone's must have list.

This sheer formula allows it to merge with the unique, natural tone of your lips to create a look that's all your own. This emoillent-rich 'not quite a gloss, not quite a lipstick' glides on for easy layering.

The new lovely colours of Almost Lipstick is great for the coming Spring/Summer which means in sunny Malaysia, we can wear it all year round. Woohooo!! The shade I have is Luscious Honey which is a rich sheer red. I wouldn't normally put rich and sheer in the same descriptive sentence but it's the best way to decribe Luscious Honey on my lips. Oh so luscious! :P

It comes in a slim metal tube that is easily slipped into your jeans pocket if you decide to go bag-free for the afternoon. Swatched once, it's a light sheer red and as you can see after three layers the colour gets a tad deeper. It has great colour pay off for a sheer lippie.

It glides on with ease like butter on a hot waffle as I apply it. I'm feeling a bit peckish at the moment which explains the food comparison. I have seen this shade on lighter lips and it looks a light sheer red but on mine it turns a deeper shade of sheer red. It enhances my natural lip color and it looks fresh.

I lurv how it moisturises my lips for the longest time without me having to fumble around for my lip balm. Though the colour comes off after I munch on stuff but there tends to be a hint of Luscious Honey still lingering on my lips.

Clinique Almost Lipstick now comes in all new shades - Shy Honey, Tender Honey, Spice Honey, Luscious, Chic Honey, Lovely Honey, Flirty Honey and of course Black Honey will still be around. This range will be permanent and retails at RM66. Available sometime this month at all Clinique counters.

As with all Clinique products Almost Lipstick is Allergy Tested. 100% Fragrance Free. Dermatologist Tested. Paraben Free.
