Favola @ Le Meridien KL
The latest addition to Le Meridien's dining experience - Favola (yeap, Italian)! Favola means fable and the experience begins as the diner walks through the open galleries into a rustic Italian setting reminiscent of the renaissance era. It has over 60 specialties from pasta, pizza to anti pasti as well as desserts. *grinss*
It has a wonderful ambience and a certain kind of warmth to it. A great place to go with family & friends.
I sat at the end of the corridor, a really cosy spot..
Romantic too ;)
If you look up as you walk through the corridor, you'll see the fable up top.
I'm pretty sure the staff are used to having people stop & stare at the ceiling.. *you won't look strange, don't worry..lol*
Venetian/Italian Masks
Symbolises Italy or more so Venice perfectly
Hand painted ones come at a very high price
Thou shall not tell a lie *lol* - Pinocchio!
While I waited
Various types of breads with accompaniments
My fave: Sundried tomato & cheese!
The bread was warm, fresh & left a trail of irresistable smell as it "walked over" to my table. Goshh.. it was yummy!
I could've asked for more but.. more food to come..
Wish I did though.. *sigh*
Primi - Pizza
Venetian - RM50 (Signature Dish)
Pizza with tomato based sauce - lobster, scallops, prawns, calamari and clamsMy first reaction was "Wow is it really that bright reddish orange or is it the lighting?" lol! It could've been both. There was a generous amount of seafood spread over the whole pizza, and I mean big chunks! The thin crust is light and crispy. Every bite I took, I never failed to bite into a chunk of seafood. The seafood topping was fresh and juicy. The tomato sauce, tasted lovely with just the right amount of seasoning.
Pasta - Homemade
Conchiglioni Marinara al Cartoccio - RM50
(Signature Dish)
(Signature Dish)
Baked in parcels with seafood in tangy tomato sauce, extra virgin olive oil, fresh herbs and Parmesan cheese
Despite there being only 3 seafood parcels, it was deceiving. It was quite a substantial amount. The parcel was cooked al dente. The seafood filling, was really yummy. From the sauce to the filling this was perfectly seasoned. *yeah I was on a seafood spree*
Sides
Soft Mascarpone Polenta - RM15
This was simply delicious! I could smell the creaminess a mile away. The texture is firm and the taste.. oh the taste. Rich & creamy!! I was told that this side was for 1 but i suggest you share it coz it's really filling. :)
It didn't take long for all three dishes to be polished clean!
Dolci
Illy Coffee Inspired Tiramisu - RM25 (Signature Dish)
A modern take on the traditional favourite with layers of soft sponge soaked in freshly brewed Illy coffee, panna cotta, mascarpone foam and topped with cookie croutons.
I couldn't wait to scoop into this one! Illy coffee gave this tiramisu a stronger taste. The panna cotta was smooth and complemented the coffee gorgeously. If you order this, dip the chocolate coffee sticks into the panna cotta. It's delightful! You have to try this!
Cassata - RM30
“This recipe was given to me by a friend, an Italian chef. He made me swear on a stack of ice cream that I would never reveal his recipe.”
Made with light Häagen Dazs Vanilla, Strawberry and Pistachio ice-cream.
This was a light dessert to cleanse the palate especially after a heavy meal. Lurv the mixed berry coulis!! The rich berry flavour was a wonderful complement to the ice cream.
Private Dining
They also offer private dining rooms which can take in up to 20 persons. I walked passed it while wondering around and it looks like a great place to have a party. Lurv the decor.
I had great time just hanging out and eating continously. The food was amazing and I'll be back for more!! *big smiles with a full tummy*
Always thought the red corridor was cool place to take photos!
