The title caught your eye didn't it. *winks* Well Prince Hotel & Residences Kuala Lumpur's Award-Winning Chinese Restaurant, Tai Zi Heen will be featuring All Things Sweet For Free promotion from 16-30 April 2012. This promotion introduces some new desserts and also existing faves. Designed by Chef Michael Wong , Chinese Head Chef, you're bound to find something that suits your fancy.
To enjoy your free dessert you just need a minimum order of only RM50 per table. There are a mix of sweet treats as well as herbal based desserts to choose from for those who prefer something a little more light for the palate. There were a few stand outs that I would not mind having again. I thoroughly enjoyed the Chilled Mango Puree with Ice Cream, Sago and Pomelo, Crispy Durian Tempura, Mango Pudding with Passion Fruit Sauce and the Crispy Vietnamese Spring Roll Filled with Sweetened Avocado Puree.
The Stand Outs
Chilled Mango Puree with Ice Cream, Sago and Pomelo
An intense mango hit! The ice cream added a creamy touch to the light mango puree. While the diced mangoes, sago and pomelo gave it that bit of texture. I enjoyed this, so you have to try it. :)
Crispy Durian Tempura (NEW)
I would say this is only for durian lovers but the taste is no where near as strong as the actual durian itself that this could be a good introduction to first timers, only if you're up for it. It is a durian custard encased in a tempura batter with bits of raspberry sauce that gives a good balance to the sweetness of the custard. The best part about this dessert is the smooth and creamy durian custard that awaits you as you cut into it. Definitely an exciting treat.
Mango Pudding with Passion Fruit Sauce (NEW)
Who can say no to pudding? Especially when it's a lovely mango flavour. The slightly sour passion fruit sauce wonderfully complimented the sweetness of the mango pudding.
Crispy Vietnamese Spring Roll Filled with Sweetened Avocado Puree (NEW)
Not often I get to have avocado in a dessert and this was very well done. A smooth avocado puree infused with pandan flavour daintily encased in a spring roll wrap. Irresistable.
Sweetened Avocado Puree with Ice Cream (NEW)
It does seem as thought I am on and mango and avocado fix doesn't it. The avocado puree used for this dessert is the same as the one used in Avocado Spring Roll just without the spring roll sheets. The ice cream gave it a richer texture that was very satisfying.
