Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Cushion Compact
A bit late to the game but the latest Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Compact has been well received in Korea as mentioned by Felix Nguyen, Bobbi Brown Asia Pacific Artistry Manager. I have never really been into the whole cushion compact thing as I find that the whole Korean style "moist" finish, light coverage thing don't seem to work all too well with me. But if it's a new Bobbi Brown foundation, you know I have to try it.
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Cushion Compact is infused with Pink Silk Tree Extract and Caffeine, a skin-boosting formula which instantly replenishes skin's natural energy, while soft-focus, skin tone correct pigments seamlessly cover blemish, redness and unevenness. It leaves the skin looking even, naturally healthy and glowing, like really great skin. SPF30 protects from the damaging effects of UV-related aggressors. The cushion compact remains fresh with the combination of capsule technology and airtight packaging. It doesn't saturate until first use, and always dispenses just the right amount of product.
It has a creamy texture that is dewy but not shiny. The coverage is light to medium, which means I still need a concealer to cover up any scars. Without a primer it lasts about 5 hours on me before my t-zone starts getting all patchy, but when I tried it out with a primer and it lasted a lot longer and tad less dewy which works fine for me. It really depends on the finish that you are going for. I prefer applying it with a brush as I feel it builds up better, the sponge applicator however is good for touch ups. Oddly enough I actually like this cushion compact which is a first for me. The formulation seems to work pretty well on me, it gives me this beautiful slightly dewy look which gives me that youthful complexion.
Worn with primer. This is about 3 hours later.
Compared to the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick, the cushion compact feels like I'm wearing foundation, it feels heavy on the skin. I find the foundation stick to be much lighter and feels a lot more like skin even after two-three layers (review here). The cushion compact also has a more noticeable scent, like the Bobbi Brown Serum Foundation. Personally I don't really find it to be much of a problem.
I was colour matched to the shade Medium which is a warm yellow tone but is a tad lighter when applied but sets nicely after about an hour. No mask-like effect. For reference I am a Golden Natural for the Skin Foundation Stick.
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Cushion Compact comes in 6 shades - Porcelain, Extra Light, Light, Light to Medium, Medium, Medium to Dark, and retails at RM185 (case + refill) also available separately at RM145. It is available at all Bobbi Brown outlets.
