I really wanted to do 'The Bloom' post but due to some technical complications it won't be blooming just yet. But I do have something else for you guys. Here's my third last exciting lunch before Saturday comes. Talk about being dramatic, I mean it's only going to be a month. But hey there's still exciting dinners ahead. *laughs*

I dropped by TWG Tea Salon and Boutique at Pavilion for a nibble. For mains I decided to try the Normandy Apple Tart (RM18). It's a delicate, flaky pastry filled with stewed apples served with a scoop of homemade Vanilla Bourbon Tea ice cream topped with an unctuous caramel coulis infused with Pomme Prestige Tea.

This was pleasantly delicious and I love the decorative arrangement of the thinly sliced apples. Pretty! It's like edible art. Unlike the usual extremely sweet apple tarts or pies I usually get here this one was just nice. I really don't understand why some places just make them so darn sweet. With this one, I could taste the apples and what gave that bit of sweetness is the rich caramel. The ice cream balanced out the flavours beautifully. What I like best is the flaky pastry base, it makes this dessert so light that polishing it off on your own shouldn't be a problem. Or maybe that's just me. *grins* There's no better way to end a meal with macarons for dessert. Does that make sense? :P

No pot o' tea this time, just dessert. Hopefully the plan to bloom materialises next week. So while you guys enjoy the sight of that yummy apple tart I'll be planning out the coming week. :)

I really wanted to post a write up on a luxe cream elixir dubbed the new holy grail of cosmetics to start off the week but I wanted to clarify a few things first before going on and on about my discovery of what could be the next fountain of youth. I see a few sceptical looks out there. ;)

Until I sort that out which shouldn't take very long, I'll show you guys some photos I didn't have time to put up last week and also some yummy foods I tried. I attempted something I don't normally do with my nails, be a tad more fun with colour combos. Since I had a little extra time, I did a pastel purple and crème coral pairing with a pinch of glitter which turned out rather pretty.

I also tried something absolutely yummy for brunch from ACME Bar & Coffee @ Troika - Baked Eggs, Spinach, Rhubarb, Ricotta and Grilled Sourdough Bread which is basically 'Two Eggs Slathered on Grilled Bread' (RM17). It's one of those dishes you order when you don't really want to eat meats or too much carbs but will still satisfy your cravings for something rich and leave you happy after. Comfort food anyone? Great combination of flavours in a shallow pot! I was craving for more after I polished off the pot or maybe I was just starving that morning. Read about my previous ACME Bar & Coffee post here.

And my latest indulgence was at TWG Tea Salon & Boutique @ Pavilion, Crème Brûlée. A traditional French confection, two miniature cream brulees infused with exclusive TWG Teas Phuguri Darjeeling and Vanilla Bourbon Tea (RM17). Truly refreshing brûlées, smooth, creamy with full on tea flavour. Did you noticed something? No chocolate! *laughs*

Since I went with Jean and Traclyn we shared a pot of Crème Brûlée  Tea and I also tried the Financiers - Green Tea and Chocolate flavours from Jean's tea set as well as Napolean Tea & Caramel Macaron (my choice) and Bain De Roses Tea Macaron (Jean's choice). The Financiers were freshly baked, it was light, moist and tasted lovely with the tea infused jelly and cream. I also help Traclyn with her Chocolate Fondant. Spoke too soon about the 'no chocolate' thing hey. *evil laugh* Read about my first visit to TWG Tea Salon & Boutique here.

There you go, my colorful treats for the week! Deciding my nail colour for next week.

Look forward to: "The Holy Grail" of cream elixir!!

And dessert it is.. A new dessert place!! I know it's a statement that I over use, not that I haven't been trying other new places. It's just some are just not worth mentioning. So when I saw whats for dessert at TWG Tea Salon & Boutique I just had to try it. TWG Tea Salon & Boutique finally opened it's first salon in Pavilion, KL. I have tried the tea but never their food and desserts. I wanted to drop by sooner but I have been swamped. After reading Jean's write up on it (google translate comes in handy :P), I knew I had go as soon as possible.

I love the interior. As you walk in you are surrounded by walls of tea tins filled with more than 450 tea blends, tea paraphernalias, tea infused bon bons and cakes all on a base of mahogany counters. You heard me Tea Infused Bon Bons! Looks like an awesome place for an outfit shoot. *grins* The tea salon can be found at the back of the boutique. It's charming and intimate interior seats 56. The decor reminds me of a traditional english tea room with TWG's signature rattan black velvet chairs and crisp white linen.

When I was brought the tea list all I thought to myself, "Gosh this is going to take a while". There is a book describing each type of tea. I call it a 'Tea Bible'. I settled on Valentine Breakfast Tea. Not sure why though, perhaps it was the name or perhaps I felt like having a fruity tea or I could have been feeling romantic after swooning over the desserts in the display. But one thing for sure, I was going to have nothing else except the desserts. I really wanted to try something non-chocolate but I'm so weak!! Hence the Chocolate Fondant. I also tried some macarons, of which they have eight exciting flavours and a madaleine.

Valentine Breakfast Tea - RM18 per pot
As sweet and enveloping as love itself, this TWG black tea of romance weds fresh ripe fruit and silver pearls that bead the soft amber infusion like luminous tears of joy. A lingering and aromatic tea to awaken desires.

Served in 18k gold characteristic Design Teapots, talk about luxe. This is a light black tea, not overpowering at all. The fruity taste is very refreshing. Reminds me of sunny summer mornings. Remember to take in the aroma of the tea first. Mine was wonderful.

Chocolate Fondant - RM19
TWG Tea's warm chocolate cake served with a light custard cream and a scoop of homemade Vanilla Bourbon Tea Ice Cream.

So very weak when it comes to chocolate! Believe me I really wanted to try something else. I'm glad I didn't though when I saw it making its way to my table. The cake was dark and intense. Which made the custard cream and the Vanilla Borbon Tea Ice Cream a perfect compliment for its light flavour and texture. This was an awesome meal on its own! Highly recommended by Chocolate Cats but be warned if you are not completely in love with an intense slightly bitter chocolate taste, share this. *swoon~*

Macaron - RM4 each
Camelot Tea & Praline, Lemon Bush Tea & Grand Wedding Tea, Passion Fruit and Coconut

Everything was perfect! The shell is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The filling was a pleasant surprise, they were generous with it. It wasn't overflowing or anything like that but neither was it so thinly filled that you can hardly taste anything. It's just nice for you to fully appreciate the flavours. The tea infused flavours are beautiful! The Praline is smooth, the Lemon intense and Passion Fruit & Coconut  is rich and well balanced.

Madeleine
Shell shaped sponge cake served with Tea infused jelly and cream. A traditional french way of enjoying it.

How can I say no to Madeleines and you can never go wrong with tea and madeleine. The scalloped underbelly never fails to entice me. Soft, moist with a touch of sweetness! The tea infused jelly, really good! Imagine spreading it on toast for breakkies. Gosh..

I'm loving this new place and I forsee myself going back often to try different types of tea and also those Tea Infused Chocolates!! Ooh la la bon bons...
