My first post for the new year and I've decided to keep it short and sweet. Also because I'm suffering from post holiday episodes. No more Coffee Bean Virginia Brownies til Christmas comes round again! Which means no more Starbucks Toffee Nut Latte either! That's just torture! *sobs*

I took some time to plan out the months ahead over a strong glass of mocha yesterday. Planning includes which new makeup stuff shall I get, what fashion trends to follow, which new bag to lust for and all that jazz. Lol! I'm lurving the soft pastels and prints overload for Spring Summer. Looks like it's going to be an exciting one.

On nails: Sephora It-Girl

I finally took out a brand new mascara out of the box as well and decided to take it for a ride. I was expecting amazingness in a tube but it was rather disappointing. Featured in the photo is MAC's Opulash Mascara Optimum Black. I'll be reviewing this soon, so keep a look out for it. ^^

I generally consider Sunday as my rest day. A rest day where I have to finish up blog work and do chores. Some rest day huh. Lets just consider it a day I don't usually go out. Since I do need to eat I dragged a friend of mine to Capricciosa at Pavilion KL for lunch. Its been open for a while now so yeah I'm a bit slow. This is the #1 Italian food craze made famous in Japan since 1978 by award winning chef Masaaki Honda. Italian Japanese food, hmm..

Pappardelle with Porcini and Eringi Mushroom in Cream Sauce - RM26.90

Pasta cooked al dente. The seasoning was just nice but I there wasn't much sauce and the portion a tad bit small especially for the price.

Shrimp & Spinach Gratin - RM19.90
Shrimp and spinach with Rigatoni pasta baked in cream sauce. Topped with mozzarella cheese.

Cream sauce in abundance in this one. Lotsa cheese and a generous amount of big shrimps!

After the ridiculously sickly lunch, not that I'm complaining I ♥ Cheese, made a bee line to Zara, sale!! Found a few pieces that I've been eyeing for a while but either the size is gone or it's not there anymore. More money for me to buy other things I want I suppose.. and it's a long list. *sigh*

No better way to drown my disappointment than having tea! Best meal of the day!! I headed over to Espressamente Illy for a good cuppa coffee and munchies.

Shakerato - RM11
A double illy espresso, chilled and shaken with ice and liquid sugar.
Neve Fondente - RM13
An iced mocha with a twist.

Good coffee! It's Illy after all.. :)

Biscotti Vienesse - RM6

Good for munchies. Rich, buttery dipped with yummy bitter sweet dark chocolate.

Tiramisu - RM14
Traditional Italian dessert made with illy coffee, mascarpone, savourdi biscuits and liqueur.

I guess I was expecting too much with this Tiramisu. I mean its a coffee dessert so having it at an Illy cafe could be good right. How wrong I was. All I can say is, too much liqueur and not enough coffee. I was looking for that intense coffee hit but all I got was liqueur galore. :( Compared to the one I had at Favola @ Le Meridien this one fell flat! For Favola post click here.

Hopefully I've made your tummies growl coz mine sure is roarring!! Having lunch at Lemon Garden 2 Go at Shangs tomorrow, looking forward to a gourmet sandwich and... dessert!! :)

My Saturday started at 1030 am with an express shoe hunt from Lot 10, Pavilion then all the way to KLCC. It is terribly difficult to get shoes for my ridiculously freaky feet. In the end I will always end up with something from Clarks. Oh please let some other brand fit me.. *sigh*

I read about a new pastry place that just opened, so I was quite looking forward to trying it out today. I am not naming the place as I refuse to give it free publicity that it does not deserve. Curious why.. Well when I got there it looked rather nice but I instantly realised it is not what it claims to be. When I went in to look at what they had to offer, I knew it was a bad idea going there. But I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try it anyway. The first bite I took into one of the few pastries I bought, I thought to myself "Crap!! This was a HORRIBLE idea". OMG they also served instant coffee! Officiated by a celebrity, this place offers inferior quality pastries, disgusting beyond belief and an INSULT TO MY TASTEBUDS! Never ever stepping foot there again.. EVER! (I am still not naming the place.. lol!!)

Traumatised by the crap the earlier place offered, I headed to what I call my 'Safe Haven' to wash away the vile, toxic taste which still lingered in my mouth, Espressamente Illy @ Bangsar Village II (yup the same one in Pavilion). A long list of reviews have been done on this place so all I can say is, it is a place where you find great coffee and delicious sandwiches. Fully satisfied every time.. :D

Back : Greco All' Italiana - RM12
Our funky version of an iced latte.
Front : Caffe Fondente - RM12
A shot of espresso with chocolate & topped with milk.

Excuse the bubbling bits, I let the coffee sit too long before I took a picture.
It was suppose to be lightly dusted with chocolate.. :P

Foccacia al Pollo - RM18
Toasted Italian herb bread with grilled chicken breast, Portobello mushrooms, mozzarella, Kalamatta olives & tomatoes.

Tastes as good as it looks.. *droolz*
