Review: L'Oréal Professionel Vitamino Color Masque

By 16:48 , ,

I was telling myself I was going to try out a new hair masque on Sunday, and if I didn't find one in my stash I was going out to get one. Simply because my hair is no longer with Inoa 2 hair colour as I had the colour changed early January. Which usually means, it's time to try something new. I wasn't expecting to find an unused masque so I was thrilled when I spotted the L'Oréal Professionel Vitamino Color Masque in a bag full of stuff. Looks like luck was on my side.

Most of the hair masques I've tried are the heavy cream type meant to intensely hydrate but very few suited my hair and fewer still are ones I really fancied. Despite leaving my hair feeling soft, heavy cream masques generally have a tendency to promote frizz making my hair ends appear dry and they usually weigh down my curls completely leaving me with disturbingly flat hair. I usually have to apply loads of hair oils and styling cream to smoothen the frizz out which helps only a little. Blow drying and irons just tends to make the ends look stiff.

L'Oréal Professionel Vitamino Color Masque is part of L'Oreal Professionel Expert Series designed for coloured hair. It uses Incell Hydro-Resist, a double-locking technology to prolong colour radiance with lightweight film that repells water, helping to protect colour and enhance shine in 1 minute!

What's different about L'Oréal Professionel Vitamino Color Masque is its lightweight gel texture. I used it in place of my usual conditioner. Expecting that it would weigh my hair down just like its cream counterparts, gosh was I wrong. See you would usually be able to tell if a masque weighs your hair down even before you dry it. Or that could just be me. I'm strange that way, always paranoid my curls would completely disappear which would be disastrous. I left it on for a little over one minute because I lost track of time, and after rinsing my hair felt amazingly soft and the tangles just disappeared. The effect felt so different from previous masques I've tried. Did I mention it has this yummy berry scent. It's not overpowering or anything, I rather like it.

Before blow drying I applied some anti-frizz serum, this a normal step for my hair care routine. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy blow drying was after the masque. And my hair felt so soft! I finished off by running it through with an iron and it had this beautiful salon style finish especially with my hair ends. It completely smoothened out the ends with no sign of frizz. For a product not specifically meant to combat frizz, L'Oréal Professionel Vitamino Color Masque did a brilliant job at it. I hardly used any of my usual hair oils to hydrate the ends. My hair also looks loads shinier than it usually does and it didn't weigh down my curls, they were still there! Double plus point!

I can't comment about it intensifying the hair colour yet as this is my first time using it. It will get back to you guys after a few rounds. Otherwise I'm loving my first experience with L'Oréal Professionel Vitamino Color Masque!

L'Oréal Professionel Vitamino Color Masque is available at L'Oréal Professionel Salons for RM67 for 200ml.

  3. Vitamino Color Mask : Apply after washing your hair with the Vitamino Color shampoo and dry with a towel. Cover the length of the hair, layer by layer, and roll the lengths carefully. Leave on for 3 to 5 minutes and remove with water. The mask can be used 1 to 2 times a week.
