Sneak Peek of Bobbi Brown Spring/Summer 2014 With Kai Vinson

By 12:46 , , ,

Being a huge fan of Bobbi Brown I was beyond excited to have been invited to the Bobbi Brown Makeup School last month with Kai Vinson, Bobbi Brown'a Regional Director of Education & Artistry in Asia Pacific who works closely with Bobbi Brown herself every season during New York Fashion Week. Picked up some really good tips from him. So cool! Basically it's a training session that happens every six months to introduce Bobbi Brown's lastest products to its makeup artists.

Things look busy for Bobbi Brown up til June. It kicked off with the Nude Glow collection in January (review here). Aren't we all on an endless hunt for the perfect nude look. Then the Uber Pink collection has that beautiful Peony Pink Illuminating Bronzer (review here). Coming up is the Nectar & Nude. I was excited to be able to check out the limited edition palette, a collaboration between Bobbi Brown x L'Wren Scott called the Amnesia Rose pallete. It's Bobbi's version of edgy. It includes colours that L'Wren Scott likes and is inspired by the flowers she grows in her garden. Amnesia Rose features the Pantone colour of the year, Radiant Orchid. There's also the New Extra Bright Advanced Moisture Cream and Bobbi Brown CC Cream. There's loads more so check out the photos.

I was even more thrilled when Kai Vinson tried out the Nectar & Nude look on me. It features an easy to wear peachy bronze Nude Eye palette with matte to shimmer finishes. I know what your thinking, more nudes? We can never have enough! Lol! To amp the look up a tad Kai used a Cream Eye Shadow Stick in a darker shade making the nude colours used from the palette to pop out. So instead of using just the palette, you only need one other product to completely change the look of the palette. Remember to blend. The Nectar & Nude Collection also comes with a shimmer brick, pot rouge, nail colours - the Nectar one is fab!, and three glosses. I will be reviewing Nectar & Nude eye palette in another post.

To complete the look Kai used the New Art Stick in my cheeks. Yeah my cheeks got drawn on.. with a smiley face. Lol! I asked Kai what was the inspiration behind the Art Stick and according to him, it's not excatly new. Bobbi Brown came up with it 15 years ago! A product before its time. The idea was to have a pop collection with brighter punchy colours when the ear was all about nude everything. The Art Stick started off as a lip colour and liner, however Bobbi Brown found that the current creamy formula  can be easily used on the cheeks and is long lasting.

After the demo, it was the make up artists' turn to try out the latest products on each other. It gives them a chance to be creative and see what works. This way they will be able to recommend suitable products to the customers and even teach them how to play with the colours. In case you guys missed my previous post, Bobbi Brown offers free Makeup Lessons at their stores. You just have to make an appointment before hand. More info here.

Here are some of Kai's fave Bobbi Brown products - BB Cream because it's light and easy to wear, Gel Stick Liner because it convenient and the Serum which is great for the humid weather as it has a light texture.

This one is random but look what I spotted!

Do guys already have your eyes on any of these new offerings from Bobbi Brown? I personally like those Art Sticks and the Illuminating Bronzer in Peony Pink. More stuff to share with you  guys. Coming up soon. Until then, thanks loads Bobbi Brown Malaysia for having me over!
