Review: Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream SPF 30/PA+++ Hydrating Colour Corrector
A new generation of double alphabet creams have made it's debut. It's the double-C. The New Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream SPF 30/PA+++ Hydrating Colour Corrector works as an instant complexion perfector designed to enhance skin's natural radiance while leaving it hydrated and protected.
Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream incorporates a dual layered color correcting optics scatter light technology to neutralise the complexion making it look radiant, glowing and healthy. It's also suppose to even out your skin tone among other skin concerns to give you that flawless look. Though I don't think this really applies to me. I'll get back to this in a bit.
Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream SPF 30/PA+++ is infused with hydrating ingredients from Clinique's signature Moisture Surge.. So there's Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water and Hyaluronic Acid which provides instant hydration. Water biding agents, Trehalose and Sorbitol protects skin against changing humidity conditions providing all day comfort.
You don't even have to worry about sun protection unless of course you're looking for a higher SPF, this one has SPF30. The blend of sunscreens for UVA/UVB. Otherwise the formula incorporates a blend of sunscreens for UVA/UVB prtotection to help prevents sign of ageing with antioxidants such as Vitamin E to protect against environmental assaults to keep skin looking health.
Despite being a huge fan of Clinique's Moisture Surge, the CC Cream didn't really suit me. Oily skin with uneven skin tone doesn't do all too well with a hint of coverage and too much hydration especially in this humidity. Let me ellaborate. Clinique CC Cream isn't really suppose to afford any or much coverage at all. Though I found the texture great for those no make up (only for flawless complexion) days. It has a gel-like texture which is light and easy to blend out. The shade I have is Light-Medium which is a pink base medium beige. It doesn't really suit my skin tone but I can get away with wearing it since the colour doesn't really show much.
My skin feels comfortable with this. Similar to having moisture surge on. Though it doesn't cover up any discolouration. It has a dewy finish and leaves me with a slight white cast due to the titanium dioxide which eventually becomes less obvious. Even with loose powder on top it still goes dewy 20 minutes later. The CC Cream oxides within 30 minutes and makes my complexion look a tad dark. It lasts about an 1 hour before the CC Cream effect wears off. I tried it with makeup base underneath which defeats the purpose of the CC Cream. Lasted about 2 hours before it goes off. Enough time for a quick grocery run with base and concealer!
You can actually wear this one under your foundation, which would work as a hydrating base. I tried it with my base and it didn't turn out right. The pink base CC Cream didn't go too well with my yellow base foundation.
A question that you guys must be asking - How is Clinique CC Cream different from BB Cream? Since they have both. Clinique BB Cream is for those who want a creamy texture, provides full coverage with a matter finish. Clinique CC Cream is lighter is formula, has a light to moderate finish and works on giving you a radiant glow.
