Lancôme UV Expert Bright Eyes SPF 50 PA+++

By 23:48 , ,

I really haven't been getting enough sleep lately. 4-5 hours of sleep on average a night has taken a toll on me. My under eye area looks like I have decided to paint it black permanently. Yes I have definitely nailed the goth look! My current concealer is just too light to cover the dark circles and I'm a bit wary of using a heavier concealer for fear that it may look cakey.

I was invited to try out Lancôme's latest release, UV Expert Bright Eyes SPF 50 PA +++ protecting & illuminating eye BB base. When I saw the "BB" abbreviation I nearly ran the other way. As you guys may have read in my previous posts, Blemish Balms and I just don't mix. But Zam, Lancôme's Color Design Artist/Trainer explained to me that this product is different from the stereotypical Blemish Balms.

This is Lancôme'ss first BB texture for the eye contour that gives you the beautifying "Blemish Balm" results. It instantly brightens and effectively conceals imperfections and dark circles.

There is not even a hint of my dark circles!

Must knows about UVEX Bright Eyes SPF 50:
  • SPF 50 protection for the eye area
  • Lightweight texture - One single drop is as light as a feather!
  • High-power
  • Mineral sunscreen
  • Optimal eye contour tolerance ie suited for sensitive eye area
Feather light

Texture is light and smooth

Easy to blend, there is hardly a thick white cast

My concern:
  • Dark circles
  • Dark spots
  • Signs of aging (a year older, can't blame me for worrying)
What UV Expert Bright Eyes  does:
  • Lightens the eye contour by camouflaging the dark circles and uneven tone of the eye contour
  • Help prevent brown spots from developing/surfacing on the eye contour - long term use
  •  Protect eye contour from pre-mature aging - long term use

Apply a small amount lightly onto under eye area
Zam's Tip: To ensure eye area does not appear white cast if at all after application, apply a tiny amount of your normal foundation over it for a softer natural look.

Apply a small amount of powder on top of the BB Base either with a brush or cotton pad to set it

Can you tell which side has been camouflaged? ;)

Both eyes done! (Ignore the eye bags) My eyes definitely look loads brighter instantly! Dark circles be gone! Woohoo!

How to apply

I wasn't too sure how it was going to turn out. Pleasant surprise, it turned out great. Despite the lack of colour choice, with a tad bit of foundation it blended into my skin really well. Upon application it felt as though I didn't have any concealer on. It is that light! Here's what I liked most about it, you know how with heavy or thicker concealers, it tends to crease and you have those unsightly line under your eyes after a few hours, that does not happen with the UV Bright Eyes. Seriously, I was half expecting it to crease but 4 hours on it looked smooth. You just have to remember to apply a really small amount as it is meant to camouflage not give you full coverage plus blend well. Not only can you use it as part of your make-up regime, you can bring it along in your bag for touch ups when needed. Very handy.
