Chinese New Year @ Tai Zi Heen, Prince Hotel & Residence KL
Chinese New Year is right around the corner and it's never too early to start having some delicious dishes! Tai Zi Heen @ Prince Hotel & Residence KL's Chef Michael Wong has prepared three sets of menus to suit all palates featuring a combination of authentic dishes and modern creation Cantonese fare.
Snow Pear Yee Sang
Some of the exciting dishes you can look forward to are crispy roasted chicken topped with vegetable crackers and fragrant salt, wok-fried tiger prawns with marmite suace and scallions, stir fried asparagus topped with crab meat and sun dried scallop sauce, and steamed red snapper with superior soya sauce, spring onions and coriander. One of the dessert highlights is the chilled water chestnuts topped with vanilla ice cream. The set menus are priced from RM1188++ to RM1888++ per table of 10 persons.
The wonderful team at Prince Hotel put together a few dishes for dinner and there were two in particular I really enjoyed - the Warm Almond Puree with Glutinous Rice Dumplings and Roasted Chicken Dusted with Crispy Garlic and Five Spice Salt.
There is also a special Chinese New Year ala carte menu which includes Double Braised Shark's Fin Soup with Fish Maw and Vegetables, Stewed Dried Oyster with Fatt Choy and Lettuce and Braised Baby Abalone with Goose Web and Broccoli.
Chinese New Year gathering will not be complete without Yee Sang and Tai Zi Heen has prepared various selections - Vegetarian Snow Pear Yee Sang, Four Seasons Properity Yee Sang (which consits of four different types of fish - Butterfish, Salmon, Tuna and Jellyfish) or the Abalone Yee Sang.

The menu for the evening also included Braised Shark's Fin Soup with Diced Prawns, Scallops and Grouper which I did not eat. I do not consume Shark's Fin and have stopped eating Shark's Fin 18 years ago. I also do not approve the consumption of Shark's Fin. This is due to the extreme cruelty in obtaining it.
